Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, talented and motivated Sr. Database Administration Lead/Manager to join our Mortgage Solutions division to deliver and support relational, NoSQL and flat-file persistence layers. Successful candidates will have 8+ years of progressive success/experience with SQL server mirroring/replication/log-shipping/clustering/AlwaysOn, architecture and Windows server OS

Database platforms running on Linux or in the Cloud (e.g. AWS RDS) experience is a plus. Working knowledge of server HW, SAN Storage and network configurations are also required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and administering database systems, including base definition, structure, documentation, requirements, operational guidelines and protection

  • Develop data models and perform planning of architecture, functions, modules, recovery, standards and implementation

  • Work with internal and external customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing data warehouse structure

  • Act as liaison to DevOps and App Dev teams

  • Tests designed applications, analyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities

  • Research and evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions for business issues

  • Create ad-hoc reports utilizing various data sources

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies

  • Maintain and monitor database backups and rotating archives of backup files.

  • Monitor and profile production database servers for load and performance bottlenecks.

  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality

  • Create knowledge base articles for alerts/issues for internal project team and affiliated groups to resolve.

  • Respond to tickets within team defined Service Level Objectives Requirements, Skills, and Education

  • Responsible for database server upgrades and SQL server configuration standards; strong understanding of MS Windows Server 2008 and up and SQL Server 2008 and up.

  • Collaborate with team resources to analyze, prioritize and test upgrades/patches.

  • Participate in future-state infrastructure planning (storage capacity planning, server SKU recommendations, newest SQL Server features, etc.)

  • Define/implement/refine SQL monitoring tools/scripts for server health checks (backups/jobs/mirroring/replication/etc.); ensure SQL Errors are proactively captured.

  • Participate in on-call rotation


  • Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience

  • Experience in lead or management role while acting in a technical capacity

  • Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production computing environment

  • Experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of relational databases.

  • Experience with developing software at the data layer in a SQL server environment using

  • Transact-SQL Software development skills in object oriented programming including C# .net.

  • SQL Server database administration experience, experience with mission critical, OLTP applications preferred

  • Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, backup and recovery methods.

  • Thorough understanding of relational database design and concepts.

  • Hands-on experience driving improvements in product performance via changes in database schema, logical and physical data organization (partitioning), tuning and configuration.

  • Experience implementing/maintaining database failover mechanism (mirroring, log-shipping, clustering, etc.) and perform disaster recovery exercises for mission-critical databases.

  • Strong SQL/T-SQL skills with hands-on experience in successful database design, schema design, SQL performance tuning and optimization.

  • Strong skills in SSRS report development and SSIS/ETL.

  • ETL using modern tools and patterns for massaging and moving data to the Cloud.

  • Experience with maintaining and optimizing MongoDB is preferred.

  • Experience with AWS services is a plus.

  • Experience with data profiling/metadata analysis/data modeling and relational schema design in object oriented or component based projects is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.

  • Strong customer service, leadership, organizational, communication and interface skills.

  • 10+ years of experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
