Listener and Station Relations:
Field emails and phone calls directed to the radio ministry and fulfill any requests Update the radio voicemail message to reflect current offers and information Fulfill radio station requests for Sharathons and special events Radio Pre-Production:
Attend radio planning meetings and notate script topics on the Founder's radio planner Create a spreadsheet for the Founder outlining scripts to be written Proofread and fact-check radio scripts before recording Review scripts and coordinate any necessary permissions from the subjects of radio programs Reserve the conference room and take lunch orders for recording day Copy scripts and organize radio binders for recording day participants Radio Recording Day:
Assist with studio preparations Provide in-studio assistance as needed Check accuracy as scripts are recorded Arrange lunch for participants Radio Post-Production:
Listen to recorded radio shows for any necessary changes Prepare and edit transcripts of radio programs, write program summaries, and tag keywords Input program information in the archival spreadsheet as directed by the Radio Archivist Create a spreadsheet for Marketing, categorizing programs by topic Compile assets and submit requests to the Digital Marketing Department regarding photos, videos, links, and free offers to be posted on the radio webpage Update the Communications SharePoint page as needed Upload English and Spanish programs and transcripts for podcast distribution Administrative/Other Duties:
Assist Founder with proofreading and editing writing projects as needed Prepare monthly radio premium email and calendar for staff Schedule monthly meetings with OnePlace.
com and Marketing Review and compile devotionals to be used for the Founder's Through the Bible program Burn, duplicate, and distribute programs on CD for Radio Club members Assist with seasonal projects, including station Thanksgiving gifts, Heart for the Disabled, and Christmas gifts for volunteers Track the sharing of radio content on ministry social media accounts for strategy and planning purposes Coordinate with Marketing on the creation of materials for radio station tool kits Prepare radio studio for tour groups Upload archival programs to the website, as time allows Assist departmental volunteers as need Scan and catalogue print materials written by the Founder Other departmental projects that may be assigned by the Supervisor/Founder/Other Leadership Other projects and assignments as necessary to support the overall strategic plan of Joni and Friends Qualifications Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry Good interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written The ability to effectively organize and prioritize a wide range of daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks with varied deadlines Must be detail-oriented, committed to accuracy, a team player, and self-starter who is flexible and able to work independently Bachelor's degree required.
English, Communication, Journalism or related degree is preferred Strong punctuation, grammar, and copywriting skills are required An interest in media is helpful but not required Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and the Internet Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable Prior to applying for any position with Joni and Friends, all applicants must review our Statement of Faith and Mission Statement (below) and be in agreement with both.
